Montgomery County Chambers of Commerce Announce the Formation of an Alliance
Ten Chambers of Commerce in Montgomery County collectively announce the formation of the Alliance of Montgomery County Chambers of Commerce.
The Alliance is a collaboration of chambers serving members in Montgomery County. The mission is to provide a vehicle for open dialogue on current and emerging issues, to establish a forum for ongoing communication with elected officials on business-related topics, and to leverage a collective voice for business advocacy when deemed appropriate.
The chambers are participants of the Alliance through a member agreement with goals and a distribution of responsibilities.
The idea for the alliance came to fruition following conversations that began during the pandemic. The chamber executives were participating in numerous county and state-wide calls on behalf of their member organizations. “The opportunity to speak with a single voice and share ways in which chambers could assist one another became more apparent,” said Pam Kelly, President, The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Montgomery County.
Eileen Dautrich, President, TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce indicated that the Alliance will allow chambers to combine their voices and strengths of their memberships to help small businesses throughout the county. The agreement, however, allows each chamber to decide which issues it feels are important to support.
The first collective initiative for the Alliance will be the distribution of PPE to area businesses through a partnership agreement with the County. David Zellers, Montgomery County Commerce Director said, “The partnership between the Commerce Department and all of the Chambers has been an instrumental part of our COVID-19 response and their help distrusting the PPE kits to small businesses is a testament to their combined commitment to the communities they serve and support. I commend the leaders of all the Chambers for coming together and I’m excited about this new Alliance and what it will mean as we continue to work together to make Montgomery County the place to live, work, learn, and invest.”
Members of the Alliance include, Eastern Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce, Hatfield Chamber of Commerce, Indian Valley Chamber of Commerce, Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce, Norristown Chamber of Commerce, Perkiomen Valley Chamber of Commerce, Spring-Ford Chamber of Commerce, The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Montgomery County, TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce, and Upper Perkiomen Valley Chamber of Commerce.
